This design offers an improved automatic chicken farm, building upon an existing schematic. The primary enhancement addresses item loss by incorporating a hopper minecart beneath the baby chicken hatching area, ensuring more efficient item collection compared to a standard hopper.

Visual appeal has also been considered, with solid blocks surrounding the farm replaced by white stained glass. This allows for better visibility into the farm’s operation, though builders can customize this element with any block type. Crucially, specific stone and cyan concrete blocks must remain solid to accommodate the redstone mechanisms.

The farm functions by adult chickens above hoppers laying eggs into a dispenser. These eggs are then launched onto a slab, hatching baby chickens. The lava above is timed to kill adult chickens once they grow, yielding cooked chicken and feathers. Note that a hopper minecart is essential for this build and will appear on the schematic but is not listed in the material count.

Before You Build

This build uses 60 blocks across 10 block types – about 1 stacks in total, which fits inside a single shulker box. It occupies 3×6 blocks of ground and stands 6 blocks tall.

What to bring first

White Stained Glass – 33
Cyan Concrete – 10
Redstone Wire – 6
Hopper – 4
Repeater – 2

Survival or creative?

Every block in this build can be obtained in survival, so it can be built by hand without creative mode or commands.

Moving parts

It includes Comparator, Dispenser, Hopper, Redstone Wire, Repeater, so check the mechanism still works after pasting – redstone state and item-container contents do not always survive a paste.
