Better Combat Mod (1.20.2, 1.19.4) integrates into the game combat animations and interactions that were utilized in Minecraft Dungeons, the other Mojang fighting-focused game. Since Minecraft in itself is a major IP, Minecraft Dungeons has also seen quite the success. However, the core gameplay of these two games is entirely different since one focused on combat and fighting, the other, on survival most of the time. Due to this difference, Minecraft often lacks depth in combat as players often spend the majority of their time being out of combat and only occasionally have to fence off adversaries. With Better Combat, however, inspired combat style which was taken straight out of Minecraft Dungeons is implemented, thus allowing players to get the best of both worlds. They can now explore the vast and beautiful world of Minecraft while utilizing special attack movements and mastering their own fighting way.

Features:

Fancy attack animations

  • This mod includes several one-handed, two-handed and dual wielded attack animation resources.

Accurate weapon collision detection

  • No more pixel hunting with your cursor, you can now just swing your weapon and hit whatever is in the way. Enjoy playing in third person view. 🙂

Natural look and feel

  • Attacks have an upswing phase before the hit is actually performed, like in real life.

Weapon combos

  • Some weapons have a sequence of different attacks.

Dual wield any combination

  • Dual wield any set of one handed weapons! Use the attack hotkey to alternately attack with main-hand and off-hand.

Two-handed weapons

  • Weapons marked as such, fully disable offhand slot, when held.

Hold to attack

  • Hold the attack hotkey to spam attacks on cooldown (configurable).

Swing Through Grass

  • Attack instead of mining zero hardness blocks (configurable).

Support any item from any mod (with data files)

  • Automatic compatibility with most mods (weapons without attribute file, will be automatically assigned a matching weapon preset, based on item id).
