JEI Enchantment Info Mod (1.18.2, 1.16.5) adds JEI info entries for enchantments. Press R while hovering over a book with a single enchantment to view info about it.

The enchantment description lang entry format is that same as its name format plus “.description”:
Lang Entry Format: “enchantment.[MOD_ID].[ENCHENTMENT_REGISTRY_NAME].description”: “[DESCRIPTION]”
Example: “enchantment.jeienchantmentinfo.fire_protection.description”: “Reduces fire damage and burn time.”
