This redstone project presents a modern, quiet, and compact hopper clock. It deviates from typical designs by using a copper bulb as an integrated T-Flip Flop, eliminating the need for sticky pistons. The circuit efficiently manages its cycle by controlling item flow between two hoppers.
The core components include two hoppers, three redstone comparators, a copper bulb of any oxidation level, six copper blocks, three redstone torches, and items to set the timer. The system works by alternating item transfer between the hoppers. When a hopper empties, a comparator’s signal changes, inverting the copper bulb’s state and using side torches to halt the opposite hopper.
The cycle time is determined by the number of items placed in the hoppers, with each item taking 0.4 seconds to transfer. The total cycle duration is calculated by multiplying the item count by 0.4 and then by two for the full round trip. For example, 16 items result in an approximately 12.8-second cycle, while a full stack of 64 items yields a 51.2-second cycle.
Materials Required
7 block types · 15 blocks · 4×3×2
Before You Build
This build uses 15 blocks across 7 block types – about 1 stacks in total, which fits inside a single shulker box. It occupies 4×2 blocks of ground and stands 3 blocks tall.
What to bring first
Survival or creative?
Every block in this build can be obtained in survival, so it can be built by hand without creative mode or commands.
How to Place It:
Moving parts
It includes Hopper, Redstone Torch, so check the mechanism still works after pasting – redstone state and item-container contents do not always survive a paste.
