This redstone contraption uses a Daylight Sensor to generate a timed pulse for your circuits. The base unit provides a one-day delay, but you can easily extend it to create longer intervals by adding more components. The schematic features a configuration that outputs a pulse on the 8th in-game morning. You can adjust the delay by modifying the number of pistons used; fewer pistons mean a shorter delay, while more pistons and repeaters allow for longer delays.

This timer is highly effective for automating tasks in farms, such as auto chicken farms or auto melon and pumpkin farms. The redstone lamp in the example demonstrates the output signal. It also includes an integrated reset function to clear the circuit after the set duration. For a nighttime pulse, simply invert the Daylight Sensor’s input.

When placing this schematic, ensure it’s at ground level and oriented to face west (negative x-axis).

Before You Build

This build uses 73 blocks across 7 block types – about 2 stacks in total, which fits inside a single shulker box. It occupies 17×5 blocks of ground and stands 5 blocks tall.

What to bring first

Polished Granite – 24
Repeater – 18
Redstone Wire – 9
Polished Andesite – 8
Sticky Piston – 8

Survival or creative?

Every block in this build can be obtained in survival, so it can be built by hand without creative mode or commands.

Moving parts

It includes Daylight Detector, Redstone Torch, Redstone Wire, Repeater, Sticky Piston, so check the mechanism still works after pasting – redstone state and item-container contents do not always survive a paste.
