This is a detailed recreation of the HMS Vanguard, a 74-gun ship of the line from the third rank. It’s the sixth vessel in the Royal Navy to bear the name Vanguard and the tenth ship of the Arrogant-class. Construction began on October 16, 1782, and it was launched on March 6, 1787, from the Royal Shipyard in Deptford.
The ship played a significant role in numerous naval engagements during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, notably participating in the Battle of the Nile. While this build features 70 guns due to space constraints, it closely mirrors the original design, with a slightly altered stern for aesthetic purposes. Every effort has been made to ensure an authentic representation.
