This compact and reliable villager trading hall, designed by Scohil and shared with permission, automates the process of zombifying villagers. With a simple lever pull, villagers are sequentially transported, zombified, and then cured using golden apples. An autoclicker can even be used for efficiency.

The system is fully automatic and maintains a single-block width for space efficiency. The schematic is an iteration of the original build, with added protection for the villagers. The downloadable world contains Scohil’s original creation, with enhancements for villager safety.

Advantages include its 1-block width, reliability, compact size, affordability, and ease of villager insertion and removal. Villager cells can be manually opened or closed by placing and breaking a minecart on the detector rail, and the hopper system is fully locked.

Before You Build

This build uses 1,499 blocks across 36 block types – about 24 stacks in total, which fits inside a single shulker box. It occupies 26×10 blocks of ground and stands 13 blocks tall.

What to bring first

White Concrete – 442 6 stacks + 58
Smooth Stone Slab – 73 1 stack + 9
Repeater – 70 1 stack + 6
Redstone Wire – 69 1 stack + 5
Sticky Piston – 66 1 stack + 2

Survival or creative?

Every block in this build can be obtained in survival, so it can be built by hand without creative mode or commands.

Moving parts

It includes Comparator, Detector Rail, Dispenser, Dropper, Hopper, Lever, Note Block, Observer, so check the mechanism still works after pasting – redstone state and item-container contents do not always survive a paste.
