This build features a striking Zeppelin moored to a tall tower, designed to serve as its operational control center. The concept draws inspiration from historical imagery, specifically a photograph from the 1936 British periodical “War in the Air – Aerial Wonders of Our Time.” The original image depicts the R101 airship connected to its Cardington mast, a substantial 200-foot structure equipped with both a lift and staircase.
In the historical context, passengers and crew would board and disembark the airship directly through the mast itself, utilizing a gangway extended from the Zeppelin’s nose. The original photograph captures a group of Members of Parliament undertaking an inspection visit, entering the R101 via this unique access point. The photo itself is uncredited and can be found via a provided link for reference.
