A compact automatic crop farm. Simply hold down the left mouse button with your desired crop, and it will be harvested automatically. This allows for AFK farming to gather any amount of crops you need.
For extended AFK sessions, consider incorporating a hopper and chest system to manage bone meal supplies.

It includes Dispenser, Observer, Redstone Wire, Repeater, Sticky Piston, so check the mechanism still works after pasting – redstone state and item-container contents do not always survive a paste.
